Luke Gatiboni
Associate Professor and Extension Soil Fertility Specialist
Luke completed his B.S. in Agronomy, M.S. in Agronomy, and Ph.D. in Soil Science at Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil. He worked for 15 years as a professor of Soil Fertility at the Santa Catarina State University (Brazil). He joined NC State University in 2019.

Wesley Childres
Agricultural Research Technician
Wes has a B.S. degree in Soil Conservation with a minor in Geology from NCSU (1992). He worked as Hydrogeological Technician (NCDENR 1994-1999) and joined NC State University as Agricultural Research Technician in 1999. He joined our group in July 2019.

Lily Kile
Ph.D. Student
Lily has a B.S. degree in Plant Sciences with a minor in Environmental Sciences from Pennsylvania State University. She has an MS degree in Soil Science from North Carolina State University. Lily is sponsored by STEPS NSF Center and her project is focusing on understanding how corn plants access soil legacy Phosphorus. She joined our group in August 2022.

Dionata (John) Filippi
Ph.D. Student
John has a B.S. degree in Agronomy and MS in Soil Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. John’s project focus on redefining P and K critical soil test values for North Carolina soils. He joined our group in January 2023.

Lydia Miles
M.S. Student
Lydia has a B.S. degree in Crop Production from Clemson University. Lydia is an Extension Agent (Agriculture/Field Crops) in Columbus County. Her project is focusing on refining P and K fertilizer recommendations for high-yielding soybeans. She joined our group in August 2020.

Anselme Dossou
M.S. Student
Anselme has a B.S. degree in Agriculture from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin. Anselme is a Fulbright scholar and his project is focusing onto define the impact of saltwater intrusion on soybean yields in North Carolina. He joined our group in August 2021.
